Compagnia Lavoratori Portuali La Spezia (CLP) in the mainland Port of La Spezia, will use the crane to boost its container handling capacity. The crane, the third to be in operation at the port, is expected to be commissioned before the end of this month (July). CPL’s decision to order from Gottwald follows positive experiences by other terminal operators at the port who already use two similar cranes.
In the Sicilian Port of Augusta, International Terminal Service Augusta (ITSA), a subsidiary of the US International Transportation Service (ITS), will also use the crane, expected to be operation this month, to enhance its container handling capabilities. This latest crane will join a similar one from Gottwald that was delivered to ITSA and commissioned last year.
“We are very pleased about these two new orders which emphasise our customers’ confidence and satisfaction in our products and services,” commented Winfried Lux, regional sales manager for Gottwald.
