Although the crane drivers at the terminal are still undergoing training, handling of the ship went off without any problems.
The terminal plans to handle two feeder ships each week from the end of August or early September, whilst it is expected that main line vessels will start regular calls from October.
Eurogate Tanger presently has a 300 m quay, which will be extended to 800 m by the end of the year, with delivery of a further three container gantry cranes expected in February 2009 to join the five currently in use.
