Deploying seven vessels with an average capacity of 1,600 teu, the ZAX service will make weekly calls at the terminal on its rotation via Shanghai, Xiamen, Da Chan Bay, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tamatave (Madagascar), Durban (South Africa), Maputo (Mozambique), Singapore and Shanghai.
To date, five vessels on the Africa service have called at the terminal. Da Chan Bay Terminal One, which is 65% owned by Modern Terminals Limited of Hong Kong, covers an area of 112 hectares and has five berths on its quayside of 1,830 m. The first two berths opened in December 2007 and the remaining three will be completed in 2008.
