The industry briefing will be held on Monday, August 11, 2008 at the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal, 5100 South Broad St, Bldg 3 in Philadelphia, PA at 10:00 a.m. A site visit will follow.
The proposed development site is located on the Delaware River south of the Walt Whitman Bridge, in the City of Philadelphia, on the former US Navy base. The project site boasts access to three class one railroads, access to two interstate highways, an “air draught” or height limit of 188 feet, and significant quantities of contiguous, undeveloped waterfront property.
The Port of Philadelphia has many assets as well including flexible ILA workforce, a convenient inland location on the Delaware River with direct access to many major consumer markets and a lower throughput cost per box for shipping lines.
