CMA CGM’s North Africa Feedering service links Malta with Tangier and deploys vessels with a loading capacity of 1,000 teu. OPDR’s service has a rotation of Hamburg – Rotterdam – Antwerp – Felixstowe – Seville – Gibraltar – Ceuta – Melilla – Tangier.
“Although the terminal is still in a testing phase and not yet officially opened, we are very proud that our operations are working so well that we are already able to handle regular feeder services. Construction work at our terminal proceeds well. We are now preparing to handle the first ocean carrier in September,” said Domenico Bagalà, president of the management board of Eurogate Tanger.
Eurogate Tanger currently has 300 m of quayside and five container cranes. By the end of the year the quay length will be extended to 800 m, and an additional three container cranes are on order for delivery in February 2009.
