BSMF incorporates deepwater berths and its own stevedoring capability. The move will enable OMG to expand business volumes at OMG Onega, which is currently a 2.2 ha site. The company plans to further develop both dedicated ro-ro facilities to service continued growth in the Russian automotive sector and new container capacity at the expanded port.
Keith Parker, managing director of OMG’s London office, said: “This agreement is a major boost for our plans to supply users of St Petersburg port facilities with a modern, efficient and integrated infrastructure.”
