Gothenburg, the largest container port in the Nordic region, last year achieved a total throughput of 841,000 teu, 4% up on 2006. In order to cope with growing volumes, the port called for international bids to replace its terminal operation system (TOS) and for an effective job schedule management system for rail and truck and its CFS job order system.
TSB proposed the newest versions of its CATOS, RPS/TPS for rail and truck pre-notification and CFS operation systems, and backed up its bid with technical workshops and site visits to key customers’ terminals. “We finally selected TSB because it presented the best terminal operation system and interface function in practice. In particular, TSB’s 20 years of expertise convinced us that it could be the Port of Gothenburg’s IT partner,” said Mats Nyblom, head of the Container Terminal at the port.
CATOS will be delivered with advanced functions such as real-time grounding and dispatching and equipment pooling. Its SCADA interface functions for external systems will maximise accuracy in operation, with minimum need for manual key-in, according to TSB.
