Francis has over 27 years experience in the container leasing industry, most recently with Transamerica and TTL. His role at SeaAxis will see him work alongside executive chairman Robert J. Montague, to further develop and grow the marine container business, which was launched 12 months ago.
Montague commented: “Clive brings a wealth of valuable experience to the SeaAxis team and reinforces the specialist expertise that we can offer clients at this difficult time in the market. In our first year of trading, SeaAxis has established itself as a leading player in the global marine container industry, with a real expertise in the ‘specials’ field.”
The group published healthy interim results in September: for the six-month period to June 30, 2008 its turnover increased by 62% to £8.594m while its UK fleet increased in size by 34% to 1,562 units. SeaAxis also acquired the spare parts business of Sea Containers Inc. for the sum of $250,000 to establish Axis SeaCo Parts.
