The crane’s safe working load is 50 tonnes under a twin-lift spreader and 60 tonnes under a hookbeam. It is fitted with a Liebherr DC drive and equipped with the company’s Visuscan crane management system. This is the second Liebherr crane to go into operation at the port.
A post-Panamax crane, the first of a two-crane order, has been delivered to HPC Ukraina in Odessa, a subsidiary of HPC Hamburg Port Consulting GmbH. This crane has a 46 m waterside outreach and a rail span of 20 m. Its landside backreach is 15.24 m and the lift height under the spreader is 34 m. Its SWL is 50 tonnes in twin-lift mode and 57 tonnes under the hookbeam, and it too is equipped with a DC drive and Visuscan. It will work alongside two existing Liebherr cranes at the Port of Odessa.
In November, Liebherr signed a contract with the Béjaia Mediterranean Terminal, at the Port of Béjaia in Algeria, for the supply of two rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes. These are the first Liebherr RTGs to be delivered to the north African country.
