Thermo King Introduces EcoPower PLUS for Gensets

According to the company, the benefits of the original EcoPower technology have been enormous, with fuel savings of more than 20% easily achieved compared to its nearest competitor. This translates to approximately 300 gallons of diesel saved per genset based on 2,500 hours operational use per annum. With fuel recently reaching US$4/gallon, this can save as much as US$1,200 per annum.

Today, users of the SG-3000 gensets with the new EcoPower PLUS option can save 30% or more fuel over traditional gensets in addition to improving the environment.

With every gallon of fuel saved equating to 10.1kg of CO2 emissions avoided, implementing EcoPower PLUS can save 513 gallons per annum and 5.2 tonnes in CO2. In a fleet of 1,000 gensets, this represents 52,000 tonnes of reduced CO2 emissions over a 10 year period – thus customers can become environmentally responsible without compromising cargo protection.
