Installation will cost around €5m (US$6.75m) and ferry modification will cost in the region of €0.75m (US$1.01m) per vessel.
In the declaration of intent, both parties have agreed that they will complete all legal and financial terms and conditions by March 2009 at the latest, so that work can actually commence. When completed, the project will be the first shore-based power connection in the Netherlands and in line with ambition of both the Port Authority and Stena Line to create a sustainable port.
