Liebherr first tandem-lift cranes for Khorfakkan

With an outreach of 64 metres and height under the spreader of 41 m, these will be the first tandem-lift cranes to be delivered by Liebherr Container Cranes and will facilitate operations on the latest proposed megamax size container vessels.

To be equipped with tandem-lift and twin-lift telescopic spreader equipment, allowing the handling of 20’, 40’, 2 x 20’ and 2 x 40’ containers, with SWLs of 80 tonnes under tandem-lift arrangement, 60 tonnes under twin-lift spreader and 100 tonnes under hook, the operational speeds of the cranes will be 60/150m/min for hoist, 220m/min for trolley and 45m/min for travel.

All drives are to be Liebherr D.C. and the cranes will include the company’s ‘Visuscan’ crane management system. Delivery is scheduled during the first quarter of 2010.
