The latest figures follow a number of new customer wins towards the end of 2008 and represent growth of 340% in the number of containers managed by the company’s software since the start of 2007. “RAM’s continued success is due to its steady increase in new customers and its ability to provide ongoing enhancements and support to existing customers at a much lower cost than is possible with in-house system development,” said Craig Anthony, general manager for the UK-headquartered provider.
The company’s customer base includes major players within the top ten container leasing companies and tank container operators globally, along with start-ups and smaller intermodal organisations.
To support current customers and future business development, RAM is to open a new office in San Francisco in spring 2009. This will be the company’s third US office and its first on the West Coast, strengthening its existing US operations out of offices in Boston and Des Moines.
