RZD introduces Trans-Siberian container trains

The first container block train was introduced on the 9,270 km Vladivostok–Perovo route and departed from Vladivostok on February 7, arriving at Perovo on February 14. An increase in the speed of the service to 1,289 km per day reduced the transit time by almost 10.5 hours from the original schedule, to seven days and 4.5 hours. The launch of another container train on this route was scheduled for February 21, 2009.
