Biocair has spent the last year working with leading GPS tracking and vehicle telematics company VeriLocation to develop the new advanced system, thought to be the first of its kind in the UK.
VeriLocation combined its in-vehicle tracking system VL-Fleet with temperature sensors contained within Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) transmitters, to allow constant central monitoring of the temperature of goods without any damage caused to vehicles’ cold units.
Andrew Overton from VeriLocation said: “This is a major leap forward in temperature monitoring. Typically logistics businesses use a temperature logger as a way of reporting historical temperature data to the client. But the temperature cannot be monitored remotely in real time and problems cannot be detected quickly.”
