PEMA and TT Club cooperate on equipment safety

As the leading insurer to the global marine terminal market, TT Club has a wealth of insight into the key factors contributing to accidents involving port equipment, including ship-to-shore cranes, straddle carriers, yard cranes and smaller mobile equipment. PEMA will now feature TT Club’s research and advisories on its website (www.pema.org) and will work with the Club to highlight the role of equipment design and technology in reducing port accidents and loss.

PEMA and TT Club will jointly host a workshop on ‘Port Equipment Safety and Loss Prevention – Strategies and Technologies to Minimise Risk’ at the 34th TOC Europe conference, to be held June 16–18 in Bremen. The workshop (on June 18) will provide insight into the major causes of equipment accidents and loss, operational and management strategies to minimise risk, and new technologies to improve safety.
