To be used as a multipurpose crane for handling general cargo, containers and bulk materials at the Scotto terminal, the cranes has a maximum lifting capacity of 100 tonnes and working radius of up to 46 metres, enabling it to serve ships up to the Panamax class.
“We are proud to be the first terminal in Italy to operate a Model 4 crane,” said Giorgio Neri, managing director of Scotto & Co. “The new G HMK 4406 ensures the performance, flexibility and versatility we need for handling a variety of cargo in our multipurpose terminal and thus will help us to guarantee our customers the shortest processing and minimum ship berthing times.”
Stressing that the short delivery lead and assembly times were a major consideration when choosing Gottwald as the supplier, Neri said, “We were impressed by how soon after ordering we were able to put the crane into service”.
