Russia, Austria, Slovakia and Ukraine sign wide gauge expansion
The project is aimed at linking the railway system of Central Europe with the regions of the Trans-Siberian Railway carrying cargo traffic on the Asia – Russia – Central Europe route and increasing the competitive capacity of railway traffic over the sea or road transport. The intention is to extend the wide gauge railway from Koshice (Slovakia) to Vienna (Austria).
