Manufactured in Killarney, Ireland the post-Panamax crane has a maximum lift capacity of 75 tonnes and with a 51 m outreach it will allow the terminal to handle most of the world’s largest container vessels.
Able to handle vessels up to 9,000 teu capacity, the crane is described by the Port of Koper as being the finishing touch to Luka Koper’s Pier I extension project and a true giant able to lift cargo 36 m above ground level with hoisting speeds of 65 m/min with a load, 140 m/min without a load, and a trolley speed of 180 m/min.
A second crane of same type will be soon delivered as part of a order of four such cranes made last year, with the remaining two likely to be delivered in October this year.
