Eurotunnel bids for Veolia Cargo France

Groupe Eurotunnel has always had ambitions to develop in the rail freight sector, and this transaction – the group’s first external growth project – is made possible by its 2007 restructuring.

Groupe Eurotunnel is bidding to purchase the Veolia Cargo France, CFTA Cargo, Veolia Cargo Link and Socorail activities which produced revenues of approximately Euro50m in 2008.

The project is being run in conjunction with a subsidiary of the SNCF group, which is bidding for Veolia Cargo’s German, Dutch and Italian subsidiaries.
