With the full commissioning of the new cranes, which have a lifting capacity of 80 tonnes, an outreach of 65.5 metres and are capable of handling 23 container-wide vessels, the port will be equipped with a total of 23 quay cranes, namely 19 super post-Panamax and 4 post-Panamax.
Developed for land transportation of cranes weighing up to 2000 tonnes, the truss system has been designed to span from landside to the waterside sill beam on cranes with a rail gauge of up to 100 feet.
Global Rigging and Transport carried out the project over ten days, which involved moving the three 1900 tonne ZPMC cranes on a group of self-powered and self-steering hydraulic dollies, a distance of 1200 metres.
