Ideally located to serve the European markets, the new facility will play an important part in the company’s long-term global supply strategy by lowering production and transportation costs. It will also strengthen sourcing activities in Central Eastern Europe.
Later this year the company will start assembly of spreaders and medium range terminal tractors in rented facilities in the Goleniów region in Poland.
Announcing the investment in April this year and finalising the purchase of 41 hectares of land in June, construction is on schedule with production expected to start during the second quarter in 2010. The new unit will support the manufacture of a wide range of cargo handling equipment and will accommodate some 200 employees.
