New harbour master at Sydney
He is responsible for the safety of navigation and management of the Sydney pilot and navigation services in Sydney Harbour and Botany Bay, involving approximately 2500 ship visits per year.
His role also includes overseeing the navigational aspects of the Port Botany Expansion and the second bulk liquids berth, as well as ensuring the safe operations for the upcoming cruise season.
“Captain Young joins Sydney Ports with extensive port and management experience and will be integral in future developments with our port operations,” said Sydney Ports Corporation CEO, Grant Gilfillan.
