Liebherr returns to New Zealand
The new larger crane will have a longer outreach of 48m when compared to the existing three post-Panamax units. Rail span is 30.48m, landside backreach 15 m and a higher lift height of 36.2 m. The crane has a SWL of 60 tonnes twin lift and 80 tonnes under hookbeam.
Crane Drives are Liebherr DC and the Liebherr Visuscan Crane Management System is also included.
According to Liebherr, the new crane, along with the upgrade refurbishment work, should greatly enhance container handling at the Port of Tauranga.
