The NWOH terminal will provide customers with an efficient and valuable transfer point through the use of “wide-span” crane technology and a high degree of automation. Tideworks’ TOS will enable the operator to increase automation and productivity.
“We selected Tideworks’ TOS because it is a proven, reliable system with a robust and centralised infrastructure. Given the importance of this project, we wanted a supplier who possessed the technical expertise and support experience necessary to ensure a smooth system implementation,” said Wilby Whitt, vice president at CSXI.
In addition to deployment of Tideworks’ TOS, the company’s industry-leading Automated Gate System (AGS) solution, GateVision with OCR, will be used at NWOH. The complete solution will encompass many different aspects of the terminal operations process, including container and railcar inventory, container stacking, control of container movements and coordination of activities to and from trucks.
