This will be achieved by the cost-cutting savings plan applied throughout the Group combined with increasing volumes and raising rates.
To date, the measures taken by the company include closing secondary lines to concentrate volumes on main lines; increasing strategic shipping partnerships in order to rationalise operating costs; the redelivery of chartered ships; and reduced logistics and port expenditure.
In addition, by reducing vessel speed to “super eco speed” on ocean-going lines, the Group will further reduce fuel consumption by the end of the year, thus saving “tens of millions of dollars”.
