One of the largest construction companies in Costa Rica has also expressed interest in contacting British firms to create a consortium in order to participate in this tender.
The port’s ‘Master Plan’ was issued by Royal Haskoning, which estimated Phase 2 and 3 of the project would cost US$812m, including construction costs for 1.5km quay, equipment and all the related works.
Phase 2 will involve the design, financing, construction and equipping of three berths of 300 meters long, 420 m wide, with a minimum depth of 14 m (designed for a future dredging to 16 m). Phase 3 will be similar, although involving only two berths.
