Cargo throughput in the Commercial Port of Vladivostok for 2009 totalled more than 6.2m tonnes, a 4.9% increase compared to 2008, with container volumes for the period amounting to 227,978 teu.

Vladivostok records increased tonnage

“The target for 2010 is for cargo handling volumes to match the level of 2009,”said the port’s chief operations director, Sergey Lopunov.

With a view to the market conditions in Asia Pacific Region improving, the port has already secured additional equipment and prepared facilities for increased cargo operations. It has also successfully conducted tests of cargo handling technologies not used in the port before.
