According to the port authority it was Hutchison’s “Twin Hub” concept that was the clincher by convincing it of the strategic benefits the concept it would bring to the Port.
The Fos 4XL “Twin Hub” will developed by HPH Northern Europe and will be linked to its “sister terminal” in the Port of Rotterdam through a comprehensive multimodal network.
Featuring a 1.200m quay length and 75ha of yard, the €600m (US$812m) investment will increase capacity at Marseille Fos by at least 1m teu.
