He inspected the first section of reclaimed land as part on a visit to see the £1.5bn (US$2.3bn) development get underway, which includes the key elements of dredging and reclamation.
Deepening the River Thames for the project will, once again, allow the world’s largest trading vessels to deliver goods to the heart of the UK consumer market, which is expected to save over 65m freight miles and 140,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
