The system comprises Global Positioning System (GPS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Wireless Networks, and PLC integration technology to integrate container operations and equipment monitoring and to achieve precise positioning and dynamic tracking for containers and handling equipment whilst at the same time improving the efficiency and security of terminal operation.

According to a company spokesman, the system not only brings innovative technology to the terminal but also integrates a scheduling cost management system that has raised terminal management and service levels to advanced international standards.

SCT has also reported that it has just welcomed the commencement of Asia Latin America Express Service (ALX), jointly run by HJS, ZIM, WHL, CCN and HLC with mv Hanjin Rio de Janeiro making the inaugural call. ALX deploys eleven vessels of 3,500 teu with HJS and ZIM providing three vessels respectively; WHL, CCN providing two each and HLCX providing one.
