ABB announces US$40m worth of automation orders
Power and automation technology company ABB has won orders worth a total of US$40m from ZPMC to supply crane automation and electrical systems for three projects viz:
• Automation, electrical systems and related services for 38 unmanned automatic stacking container cranes and eight ship-to-shore container cranes at Busan New Port in South Korea. ABB will provide full crane automation and support systems as well as related project management, engineering, customer training and commissioning services. The cranes are scheduled to commence operating mid-2011.
• Automation and electrical systems for two STS container cranes and four electric RTGs for Santa Marta International Terminal, Colombia that are scheduled to commence operating at the beginning of 2011.
