Based on vessel arrival conditions, planned stowage locations and other factors, the new tool automates calculation of vessel bay, stack and tier, minimising stowage errors and incompatibilities.
Enabling terminal operators to increase efficiency and productivity of container movement, the tool detects and provides alerts to vessel planners when containers are not loaded to their planned positions.
Scalable to any size operation and allowing terminal operators to eliminate latency in reporting container locations to the terminal operating system (TOS), the new system will work in conjunction with any number of automation technologies including crane optical character recognition (OCR), radio frequency identification (RFID) and real time locating systems (RTLS).
