According to Bromma, the second generation spreaders have many financial advantages including lower weight resulting in lower crane power consumption and a lifetime diesel cost savings of Euro 30,000 (US$ ); up to 90% lower spreader power consumption; a major reduction in service points , with one Bromma customer reporting more than 60% saving in annual labor and material costs when compared with hydraulic spreaders in its fleet; higher reliability when compared with spreader hydraulics and lower consumable cost – no oil, filters, etc.
Over the lifetime of a typical Bromma GREENLINE™ spreader, fully half the original spreader cost should be returned in green cost savings, said Bromma.
The second generation units also offer significant environmental benefits including a lifetime energy consumption reduction of 150,000 kWh – corresponding to 113 tonnes of CO2 emissions per spreader, and a lifetime reduction in crane power consumption equal to 94 tonnes of CO2 emissions per spreader
