Delegations from Argentina, Panama, Mexico, US, Spain, Singapore, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Venezuela, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Netherlands, Suriname, Costa Rica and Guatemala, among others, have already confirmed their participation. The organisers of this AAPA Congress see it as the most important annual meeting where regional port terminals and companies can gather.
To be held in Manta, Ecuador the meeting will focus on the relationship between Latin American, European and Asian ports with international experts discussing a range of topics including: The world economy and Latin American port development; Maritime transportation and the development of transfer ports in Latin America; Infrastructure requirements at Latin American ports/terminals; How to adapt to port industry levels in Asia and Europe and The possible effects of the Panama Canal expansion on ports in the western hemisphere.
The Congress is also intended to show the capacities and advantages Manta’s port with its 12m depth alongside (and projected to expand to more than 16 m) and the competitive advantage of being located 25 miles from the international traffic route.
