To date, five Kuenz rail-mounted gantry cranes (RMGs) have been delivered, with another three due for delivery in 2011. All cranes will be equipped with Kuenz spreaders.
According to the company, the rail-mounted container gantry cranes are designed as a two-girder bridge. The steel gantry comprises a hinged post and fixed post and a suspended main girder. The rope reeving system for the container hoisting gear is contained in a rigid rope tower which enables swing-free travel in the gantry, trolley and slewing gear, and guarantees efficient handling.
Austrian manufacturer Kuenz is one of the few suppliers of container cranes that provides its own spreaders. The spreaders are electronically integrated with the cranes through the Kuenz Crane Management System (CMS). The CMS includes troubleshooting and rectification, in addition to remote fault finding with real-time ISDN-wire access by Kuenz 24 hours a day.
