Part of the French Asia Line (FAL) 1 service, the 13,830 teu, 365.5 metre long vessel sailed into the port as part of a repositioning programme to the FAL 5 service. During her stay all four of the terminal’s super post-Panamax gantry cranes were deployed in the exchange of around 2,400 boxes before the vessel sailed for Le Havre.
“It was a real privilege to welcome the CMA CGM Christophe Colomb to the terminal, which demonstrates DP World Southampton’s commitment to developing the terminal to accommodate some of the world’s largest containerships afloat,” said Aart Hille Ris Lambers, DP World Southampton’s business development manager.
During the vessel’s visit, the traditional plaque presentation took place between the Captain and representatives from DP World Southampton and Associated British Ports.
