Spanish Prince opens TTI Algeciras
Owned and built by the South Korean Hanjin Group and located at the Port of Algeciras on the Strait of Gibraltar, TTIA is the first semi-automatic container terminal in the Mediterranean and Southern Europe. It is the largest investment ever made by a South Korean company in Spain.
The Prince highlighted the fact that TTIA “forms part of the commitment to the future of the Port of Algeciras Bay as the greatest Andalusian and Spanish port in terms of its world cargo throughput.”
Prince Phillip also stated that the Port of Algeciras Bay is a “keystone” for Spanish integration into Trans-European traffic networks. “This new, intelligent container terminal reinforces this port as a model for others to follow”, he added.
