eModal® launches container availability application for Android

Tideworks Technology subsidiary eModal, an online port community system for communication and collaboration between trucking, marine and rail communities, has released a mobile application (app) for Android phones.

The application provides container status information at over 40 US container terminals, enabling truckers, dispatchers and other eModal users to determine whether a container has arrived, cleared US Customs and is available for pickup. The new application works with any Android phone, such as the Motorola Droid and the HTC Dream.

eModal released a similar container availability application for the iPhone in June this year. With the addition of the Android application, eModal now serves close to 40% of the U.S. smartphone market with its container availability data.
