Montecon maintains its investments

The most recent order is for a Gottwald G HMK 6407 mobile harbour crane with a tower extension and three Bromma spreaders (one twinlift). With a maximum capacity of 100 tonnes and maximum outreach of 51 m, the crane will mainly be utilised for container handling on vessels up to post-Panamax class when it is delivered in November this year.

Rainer Buessing, Gottwald’s regional product manager is especially pleased with this order. “With this new crane in addition to the Gottwald HMK 280 E unit already in operation at Montecon, we have managed to re-secure a foothold in the port,” he said.

Other orders are also in the pipeline for Montevideo “that we are not allowed to discuss publicly at the moment,” said a company spokesman.”
