The service loop comprises Uleåborg – Torneå – Mäntyluoto – Gothenburg – Hamburg – Bremerhaven.
“It is part of our strategy to reinforce our presence in northern Finland. It is a strategically important area for both the container and Ro/ro segments and Gothenburg is the obvious choice in Sweden,” said Kent Tullock, vice-president and head of Ro-ro Baltic at TransAtlantic.
Magnus Kårestedt, chief executive of the Gothenburg Port Authority, said, “The Port of Gothenburg is the largest port in Scandinavia and in many ways mirrors the state of the economy. This development is a further sign of the recovery that we have noted during the first half of the year.”
