The machines will operate at the ports of Lázaro Cárdenas and Manzanillo, located on Mexico’s Pacific Coast. Delivery of the new machines will begin in November 2010.
Kalmar Ottawa 4×2 terminal tractors are equipped with a Cummins QSB6.7L 173 HP / 129 kW and an Allison 3500RDS/IM transmission. A reinforced L-frame chassis and heavy-duty boom enable the machines to perform consistently under repeated shock loads.
Mexican ports have been subject to significant expansion in recent years following the country’s move to privatise its port operations, producing new investment in port facilities and in inland connections.
