A good example is APM Terminals’ current search for a Director of Business Development for Latin America to join the Business Development team based in Panama City. According to Pedersen, the company is looking for candidates with relevant ports industry or container carrier experience; who are fluent in Spanish, English and preferably Portuguese; are able to independently pursue objectives with a winning mindset, high energy and the desire to secure the project, and who will not give up before finishing, especially when facing resistance.
Candidates will have successfully led and completed complex infrastructure transactions and demonstrated success as a skilful negotiator in planning, and executing negotiation strategies in tough situations.
