Delivered this August, the LHM 500S crane, which will be used to handle containers as well as metals, alloys, dry bulk and break-bulk cargoes, has a lifting capacity of up to 140 tonnes with a maximum outreach of 51 metres.
The unit is equipped with two 70 tonnes winches, enabling it to handle project and heavy lift cargo, and Liebherr’s eco-efficient systems for lower energy consumption, reduced maintenance and improved operating efficiency.
“This is an exciting time in the 90 year history of Rukert Terminals. With the construction of a new 300 m (1000 feet) long berth with 15 m (50 feet) draught, designed specifically with this crane in mind, we are ready for the next generation of vessels,” said Rukert’s President, John Coulter.
