According a Demag statement, DB Controls comes with software and consulting competence related to bulk materials automation and its customers include ports and terminal operators in UK, Asia and Africa, among others. For the future, the company will trade exclusively under the name DBIS.
The acquisition is part of Demag Cranes’ strategy of expanding into the bulk materials handling segment of Port Technology. Through DB Control’s service portfolio, Demag Cranes is expanding its range of software and consultancy services, previously geared to container terminals, to include the bulk materials sector. “As a result, customers throughout the will receive a complete package from a single source,” the company said.
