BLT Logistics invests in MecLift reach truck

According to the company there has been increased demand for used machinery such as wheel loaders and excavators from the United States into Africa, South America and the Far East, requiring investment in the machine to handle such equipment.

“Unlike conventional forklift trucks, the MecLift, which has a lift height of 20 feet and a 33,000 lb load capacity, is able to drive into containers or reach inside a container for easy and reliable loading and unloading. At the same time, empty containers can now be stacked in the container yard three high to offer significant space savings,” said Ryan Mouritzen, vice president of BLT Logistics.

Capable of handling steel coils, granite, palletised cargo and lumber, an important feature of the ML 1612R series is the double fork that allows four pallets, or a similar load, to be handled at the same time making it possible to fully load a 20 ft container with only two lifts.
