The new 3-high twin-lift spreaders eco-friendly machines capable of lifting up to 50-tonne loads will feature selective catalytic reduction engine technology, designed to meet the EU Stage 3B engine emissions requirements. They will also be supplied with a variable speed generator (VSG) and winch hoist system with full AC drives.
The order demonstrates HHLA’s continuing commitment to sustainable container handling solutions, which since 2008, has seen CO2 emissions reduced by 30,000 tonnes or 27% from the terminal operations and by 16% per container.
As an integral part of the contract, Cargotec will also supply its UniQ Equipment Monitoring Service (EMS) and analysis tool, which monitors straddle carrier performance from the terminal control room, including fuel levels, fluid temperature, tyre pressures and forecast maintenance requirements.
