A public opening of the tender will take place this Friday (20 May), at which time the proposal will be checked to verify it meets the terms and conditions before a concession is awarded.
The 35-year concession, which was sponsored by the Autoridad Portuaria de Ferrol-San Cibrao, will permit the development of a new container terminal in the outer harbour at the Port of Ferrol, which is located in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, in the province of La Coruna, Galicia in Spain.
With the possibility of berthing vessels up to 20 metres draught, the new terminal will occupy an area of 29 hectares initially with a quay frontage of 780 metres, with the opportunity to extend to 1.4 km.
