Due to space restrictions the work is being carried out at Marport’s West Terminal using the on-site plug-in system on-site. More than eight kilometres of conductor rails will be installed for the entire system length of almost two kilometres.
The order from Turkey is another of what Conductix-Wampfler calls “an unbroken series” of RTG conversions over the past four years for the company, which has just concluded a Global Frame Agreement as the primary contractor with APM Terminals to convert the majority of its fleet of more than 400 RTG’s to electric drive-in operation at its 50 port facilities in 34 countries around the world.
The Conductix-Wampfler drive-in system enables the cranes to change the stacks and be automatically connected without a time- consuming plugging in and out of the conductor rail connection.
