Algeciras is happy with H1

The month of June contributed significantly to the overall increase with container traffic reaching an all time record with 332.484 units handled, 46.6% higher than in June 2010, when 226.744 units were handled.

Ro-ro traffic using the Strait sea link (Algeciras-Ceuta and Algeciras-Tangier Med) has been increasing since the beginning of the year with 120,505 lorries using the service, up 12.8%. According to the port authority, these routes have benefited from a 20% cost reduction in logistic operations that have reinforced the competitiveness of the service.
